To correctly calculate the wind angle on a boat with a rotating mast, it is necessary to compensate the wind angle measurement with the mast angle measurement.

This sensor is usually installed at the foot of the mast, a position particularly exposed to the elements, so we’ve done our utmost to make it waterproof.

The analog measurement will be digitized by an Analog Monitor 0-3.3V [PF000171] or via the dedicated input of the Apparent Wind Monitor [PF000137].

Motion can be transmitted via a belt that drives the sheave, or via an arm and a connecting rod. Sheave is preferable for its watertightness and lower vulnerability.
